Beauty in 5

Like many mama's, I have had less time to do my hair and makeup on a daily basis since having children. Since I've been home at lot more with the little ones, I tend to be makeup free.

When I had to run some errands and/or felt like putting on some makeup, I needed something quick to get me out the door. I also was more cautious of what I was putting on my face since my children are constantly close to it. I didn't want anything that potentially could rub off on them and cause a reaction on their delicate skin, especially for a newborn or under one year.

Because of this, I started to look for more clean alternatives in my skincare and makeup.

I also needed items that I deemed to be essential when in a hurry and let's face it, who has the time to do a full face of makeup with the kids hanging off your leg. My main goal was to look fresh and not tired, especially when a full nights rest was not possible. So if you are looking for some clean make-up and skincare products and need to do your makeup in five minutes or less, I've listed what I've tried and loved that will get you out the door looking natural and great!

Tinted Moisturizer with SPF: One thing I really needed was to cover up some of my blemish scars and some discoloration. Taking care of your skin is one of the most important factors in looking great as we age which is why I list a tinted moisturizer as the first thing to have in your makeup bag.
If I had the time, I would follow with my foundation and concealer but if not, a tinted moisturizer (don't forget the SPF even in the winter months) is my go to on a daily basis. This particular moisturizer by Origins does a great job in normalizing my skin tone and discoloration and gives me a sunkissed look.

Mascara: I know lash extensions are becoming ever so popular these days, but if you are like me, I save the temporary lashes for special events and use extensions that I can take off at the end of the night. For daily wear,  I use mineral fusion mascara in Jet. It provides volume and also separates and curls and gives the look of natural looking lash extensions. I only need to put on one coat and either side and I'm good to go.

Liptint (also with SPF): Something that keeps your lips hydrated and also protects your lips from sun damage with a hint of color is Fresh Sugar in Watermelon. I love how my lips feel soft and subtle. I usually carry the mini version in my purse for reapplication. They also have a ton of shades to choose from!

Eyebrow Gel: This clear gel from The Body Shop is fool proof and takes seconds to put on. Good to shape the brows when it's almost time to see your esthetician and you got some hairs you want to tame in place of your eyebrow shape.

Cream Colored Eyeshadow: If I'm in a hurry, I will use BareMinerals eye concealer in Well Rested. Also has SPF and I love how it settles throughout the day. The name sold me but honestly this product does not leave any creases and provides a natural color, decreases puffiness and dark circles in the eye area. I always make sure I have a backup on hand so I never run out! If I have more time, I will follow with an actual eyeshadow but if not, I'm happy with this product alone!

I'm no beauty expert and you really don't need to be when applying these products because they are so forgiving. As long as you got the right tools, you can practically do all of these without looking in the mirror, not that I suggest that!  If you are short on time or you are putting make up with the kids with you, a little bit of these products is all you need for a natural and polished look!

If you try them out, let me know what you think or if there are clean products that are a staple in your beauty bag that you would love to share, please do! I love trying out new things to make my beauty routine simple and perhaps find a new favorite!

Take care lovelies!
